Using the Canvas Mobile App
Accessing videos through podcast.ucsd.edu (if applicable)
Logging into Canvas via https://ucsd.instructure.com (rather than canvas.ucsd.edu) to view video content.
Please note: ucsd.instructure.com should not become users' primary way of accessing Canvas, as some UC San Diego services and tools may not function properly outside of the official canvas.ucsd.edu environment. If users encounter issues using that URL, they should return to using canvas.ucsd.edu.

Below is the I&R notification of the maintenance:

There are 7 wireless access points installed in Marine Science center that have reached their end-of-life cycle. ITS has scheduled the replacement of these devices for Thursday 5/15, starting at 8:30am. We have 4 buildings on this project,



Each wireless access point will go offline for approximately 15 minutes as it’s replaced with a newer model. There will be light drilling so the noise and disruption will be minimal. Barring any access issues, we fully expect to complete this activity by the end of the business day.



This activity will not impact the wired network.

What: Upgrade all the network switches in the entire TPCN (Torrey Pines Center North) Building
When: Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 8:30 AM to approx 5 PM
Scope: Upgrade the existing network switches with newer-model network switches.
Impact: Intermittent loss of wireless and wired network connections to the switches being replaced during the 8:30 to approx 5 PM maintenance window.

Below is the notice from I&R about the maintenance:

TPCN is scheduled for an network switch upgrade and we would like to schedule this for 5/8 (Thursday) starting at 8:30 am, we will have multiple techs on the project and we expect to have everything completed by 5pm. The equipment is in parallel and the network disruption should be minimal to 2-4 seconds.

This firewall cluster operates in a high availability cluster and takes advantage of failover protocols to maintain network uptime. During the failover events, short, sub-minute, network interruption is expected as traffic moves over to the stand-by unit. There will be multiple reboots as we need to process through a few versions of firmware to follow a recomended upgrade path.
